DualAxis Pro®
Heavy-duty two-way pallet shuttle for high-density warehouse automation. Fits every rail profile — engineered for cold storage, food, and industrial facilities. A standard DualAxis® is also available, purpose-built for ambient and light-industrial environments.
Designed to fit your warehouse
The Spacemaker DualAxis Pro combines state-of-the-art technology with practical design, delivering an unmatched warehousing experience. Designed to adapt to your unique storage challenges with customizable configurations that integrate flawlessly into diverse racking systems.
Better torque and load distribution than front-wheel-drive competitors. Reduces failure risk under heavy loads and long lanes.
Encoder system keeps the unit running even if a sensor fails. Flange wheel control removes the risk-prone components other designs rely on.
One handheld RF transmitter manages up to 240 shuttles — far beyond competing systems. Mobile app access for easy monitoring.
Operates in below-freezing environments down to -40°F (-40°C), with freezer-rated components and consistent loaded/empty speeds.
Built to perform
Every DualAxis Pro is built in-house to Spacemaker’s engineering standards. Custom configurations and payload variants available on request.
Custom payload, lane depth, and temperature variants available. Full structural and electrical load documentation provided per project.

Installed across cold storage, manufacturing, and 3PL facilities throughout North America and Europe. Engineered to drop into existing 2-way shuttle racking, or designed into new high-density warehouse builds from the ground up.
Cold storage & refrigerated warehouses
Deep-lane frozen storage from -40°C. Replaces drive-in racking with recoverable, high-density automation for cold chain logistics operators.
Food & beverage distribution
Bulk inventory buffering for high-volume food manufacturers — dairy, beverage, protein, and packaged goods.
Manufacturing & 3PL
High-throughput raw-material and finished-goods staging adjacent to production lines and dispatch.
Retrofit & new builds
Drop-in for existing 2-way shuttle racking, or designed into new high-density warehouse builds from the ground up.

Advanced features, built in
Every DualAxis Pro ships with a suite of operational modes designed to maximize uptime, recover fleet units, and squeeze every cubic foot out of your warehouse.
Pallet Count System
Easily tally pallets in storage lanes. Position the unit, select “Stock Count” on the RF controller, and receive an accurate count instantly.
Pallet Shuffle
Make the most of your storage space. When pallets are removed, Pallet Shuffle auto-shifts the remaining pallets forward, freeing up inbound-side space.
Manual Input
Direct the unit manually to any location or task. Full operator control when automation needs a human in the loop.
Auto Retrieve & Deposit
Automated pallet retrieval and deposit cycles, executed on command. The shuttle handles the full movement sequence independently, reducing operator intervention and increasing throughput.
Additional operational modes
- Unit Recovery Mode — If a unit gets stuck, dispatch a second recovery unit into the lane, no personnel needed to enter potentially hazardous areas.
- Single Deposit — Execute a single pallet deposit into a designated lane position.
- Single Retrieve — Retrieve a single pallet from a designated lane position.
- Auto Deposit — Continuous deposit cycle for high-volume inbound operations.
Part of the
Spacemaker stack
DualAxis Pro integrates natively with the rest of our hardware and software — the shuttle, the network, and the WMS integration layer are all engineered by one team.
Which means you get one support contract, one roadmap, and one engineer to call when something needs to change.
Explore the software stackMulti Gateway Mesh®
Fleet networking across the whole facility. No dropped commands at range, no line-of-sight problems between aisles.
Spacemaker WMS integrations
REST and message-queue interfaces into major WMS platforms. FIFO, LIFO, Stock Count, and Pallet Shuffle map directly to WMS tasks.
Any 2-way pallet shuttle rack
Fits every rail profile we’ve tested — CHEP, EUR, GMA pallet standards. Drops into new builds or existing racking alike.
Reach trucks, AGVs, cranes
The shuttle is delivered to and from each lane by your existing handler fleet — no need to replace material handling equipment.
DualAxis® — For standard warehouse environments
Not every warehouse needs heavy-duty cold-store engineering. DualAxis is our 2-way pallet shuttle built for ambient and light-industrial operations — a fit-for-purpose sibling to DualAxis Pro, sharing the same control platform, the same ecosystem, and the same service model.
It runs on the same Multi Gateway Mesh® network, integrates with the same WMS platforms, and is supported by the same USA and UK engineering teams. The difference is scope: DualAxis is specified for standard temperature ranges and standard-duty cycles, which keeps the total cost of ownership aligned with lighter-duty applications.
If your facility runs at ambient temperatures, moves standard pallet loads, and does not require freezer-grade components, DualAxis is almost certainly the right fit.
DualAxis Pro®
Cold storage, food, and industrial facilities
- Temperature: -40°F to 122°F / -40°C to 50°C — freezer-grade components
- Payload: Up to 3,300 lb / 1,500 kg per pallet
- Duty cycle: Continuous operation, high-throughput applications
- Target environments: Cold storage, frozen food, heavy industrial
- Construction: Full freezer-spec chassis, sealed components, full-speed travel in both directions at temperature
DualAxis®
Ambient and light-industrial environments
- Temperature: Standard ambient operating range
- Payload: Standard pallet load ratings
- Duty cycle: Sized for standard-duty throughput profiles
- Target environments: Ambient warehousing, distribution, general manufacturing
- Construction: Shares the DualAxis control platform, Multi Gateway Mesh® networking, and WMS integration layer
Full DualAxis specifications are confirmed during project scoping — rack profile, pallet standard, and duty cycle determine the exact configuration.
Common questions about DualAxis Pro pallet shuttles
How deep can a lane go?
DualAxis Pro routinely runs lanes 30+ pallets deep. The practical limit is determined by battery runtime, rack tolerances, and cycle-time targets — we size each deployment to your throughput requirements.
What rack profiles are supported?
Any standard 2-way pallet shuttle rack. The unit fits every rail profile we have tested across CHEP, EUR, and GMA pallet standards. We review your rack drawings before quoting.
Can it run in my freezer?
Yes — rated to -40°F (-40°C) with freezer-grade components and full-speed travel in both directions (215 ft/min loaded and empty). No warm-up cycles required.
How many shuttles can one operator control?
Up to 240 units on a single RF transmitter — well beyond typical competing systems. A mobile app layer lets supervisors monitor fleet status in real time.
What happens if a unit fails mid-lane?
The encoder-based drive is designed to keep running even if a sensor fails. If a unit does become stuck, Unit Recovery Mode dispatches a second shuttle to retrieve it — no personnel enter the lane.
Is it built in the USA?
Yes. DualAxis Pro is engineered and assembled at Spacemaker in the USA. North American service, parts, and support operate on US business hours.
What’s the lead time?
Typical lead time runs 12–16 weeks from signed order for standard configurations. Custom payload, temperature, or lane variants may extend this — we confirm during consultation.
How does integration with our WMS work?
Spacemaker provides native integrations with major WMS platforms via REST / message-queue interfaces. Inventory modes (FIFO, LIFO, Stock Count, Pallet Shuffle) map directly to WMS task types.
